The Board of Directors of the Connecticut GFOA met Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015. One item on the agenda was an update regarding a letter sent by OPM to independent auditors on November 6, 2015 regarding GASB 68 Accounting and Financial Reporting for Pensions – CT State Retirement System (CSTRS) and CT Municipal Employees Retirement System (CMERS).

A key legislative priority of GFOA’s is federal legislation that would compel retailers to collect taxes on online sales and remit them to the destination of the purchaser. Estimates place the value of the lost revenue from failure to collect these taxes at over $23 billion annually.
