RECRUITMENT FOR THE POSITION OF FINANCE DIRECTOR
The Town of Hamden is looking for a Finance Director with a high level of integrity and capable of garnering the trust and respect of elected officials, Town staff, and Town residents.
This administrative work involves the direction of a very broad range of municipal finance functions. Responsibilities include accounting, investing, municipal auditing, closing of the books, bonding capital projects, preparation and submission of the Mayor’s budget, assessment, tax collection and purchasing functions.
The Town is seeking someone who is committed to creating a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and trust throughout the organization. The Finance Director must be a strong leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and will work to instill ethical decision-making, public responsiveness, and innovation in the delivery of services.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business/public administration or related field and 7 years of experience in financial management and 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position.
