Description:
POSITION: Assistant Controller DEPARTMENT: Accounting WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week DATE: April 10, 2016
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs a variety of accounting duties requiring the knowledge of and ability to coordinate the daily operations of the Borough’s accounting office. Apply basic GAAP accounting principles in the maintenance of the Borough’s accounting ledgers and fiscal records involving appropriation accounting and reporting for the general fund, grants, reserve fund and all special funds. The work performed is complex in nature and requires a high degree of accuracy and ability to assume responsibility and exercise judgment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Controller
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The qualified candidate must possess a minimum of a B.S./B.A. Degree in accounting with a minimum of three (3) years practical accounting experience. Knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting practices and their application to municipal finance administration is essential. Proficient verbal, written and communication skills. Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience with Munis Financial Systems is preferred and experience with KVS Financial Systems is a plus. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of position.
