Marketing- Communications Specialist


The Town of Glastonbury is seeking a dedicated, highly experienced, professional to assist the Town Manager and Operating Departments and Divisions in publicizing, marketing and communicating Town programs, services and facilities through written, electronic, video and other means as effective and applicable. The Coordinator will serve as web site manager for the Glastonbury web site to effectively publicize and communicate Town activities, increase operational efficiency, provide 24/7 business access to Town services, promote Town facilities as applicable, and otherwise effectively manage a municipal web site pursuant to ongoing best practices. The Communications Coordinator will develop and implement marketing programs for Town facilities such as the Riverfront Park Boat House, Riverfront Community Center and others to include virtual tours, marketing content and publicity, outreach to potential end-users, and other such marketing initiatives.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelorís Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe Photo Shop; have 3-5 years of demonstrated successful work experience in marketing, communications or public relations and experience managing projects similar to the general job functions outlined herein. A valid driverís license is necessary.


Effective July 1, 2014, the salary range for this position is $58,334-$72,910. The starting salary will be based on the knowledge, skills, experience and background of the successful candidate. Employees of the Town of Glastonbury enjoy a highly competitive benefit program including:
