Town of Southington is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of
Treasurer/Accountant. Under general direction of the Director of
Finance, this position plans, organizes, and supervises the recording of all
Town moneys received and disbursed; and participate in the investment of Town
Qualifications include: Bachelor’s
degree from a recognized college or university in accounting or some closely
related field. Three years experience in
responsible accounting, banking or investment advisory work plus experience in
supervision of staff. Good knowledge of governmental accounting;
electronic processing and banking; laws and regulations related to municipal
investments, and the issuance of municipal debt; auditing and financial
reporting related to cash, investments and debt; automated financial and
treasury management systems. Ability to reconcile bank and investment accounts.
