CASH RECEIPTS/GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT Finance Department - Town of South Windsor - 37.5 hrs./wk. - Salary of $50,000 to $55,000 depending upon experience - UPSEU Local 424-Unit 65 Work involves responsibility for calculating, verifying, posting, and balancing a variety of financial transactions. Work also includes various clerical functions of a general, multi-purpose nature. Working within clearly established systems and procedures, employees of this class exercise independent judgment to complete assigned tasks. Work includes the preparation of a variety of reports and the operation of data processing equipment. Work is reviewed through verification of financial records, periodic audits, and observation of the quality and quantity of work produced. Graduation from high school with courses or experience in accounting or related field (college degree preferred); at least three years of prior experience in accounting or financial record keeping; familiarity with computer software for financial recording required; specialized education or training in computer applications desired. In lieu of the above, any equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
