Deputy Treasurer/ Chief Account Clerk

City of Torrington

 

 

Responsible for the supervision of clerical staff and performing a variety of responsible clerical duties or directly performing moderately complex and difficult clerical duties related to bookkeeping and accounting functions.  Works under the general supervision of a department head/ supervisor who reviews work for accuracy and conformance with established policies, procedures, rules, regulations, statutes, and ordinances. 

 

Required Qualifications:

HS diploma and Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting and an minimum of six years of accounting experience and a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a similar role.  Thorough working knowledge of modern computerized accounting systems, MS Office software, internal controls and separation of duties.

 

Salary Range:

$25.6458 - $33.6737 per hour.  Individuals new to City service will be paid at the entry level rate of $25.6458 per hour.
