TOWN OF BLOOMFIELD

Council-Manager Government Since 1941


 

INTERIM TOWN ACCOUNTANT

 

  Hourly Rate:  Starting at $48.20/hr

 

This interim position includes a wide variety of accounting functions and includes: maintenance of general ledger system and subsidiary ledgers; ensures financial transactions are recorded according to applicable laws, accounting standards and Town policies; oversees preparation for the annual audit; Provides administrative support to the Finance Director.  Flexible schedule and hours based on needs of applicant and department.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field and have over 5 years of responsible experience in accounting and finance, audit principles and practices; Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience; High School Degree/GED and 10 years of experience. Municipal accounting and finance preferred.

 

Selection Process

 

All appointments and promotions shall be made according to merit and fitness for performing the functions of the position, including factors such as education, experience, aptitude, knowledge, character, ethics, or other qualifications that would determine the best candidate for the position.  Examinations may include written, oral, physical, or performance tests or any combination of the various types of examinations.  Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results on a background check, pre-employment physical, drug screening and verification of information on the employment application.
