Position Title:   Payroll/Benefits Coordinator

Department:       Finance

Position Type:    Full Time, with benefits

Reports to:       Finance Director

Annual Rate of pay per union contract:  $62,275.35

Hours: Monday-Friday, Town Hall Business Hours, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

Under general supervision of the Finance Director, the Payroll/Benefits Coordinator:

     Prepares payroll according to collective bargaining agreements or in accordance to approved budgets for non-union employees.  With direction from the Finance Director, assist Human Resources Director with new-hire information and coordinated benefit inquires.

     Must have knowledge of current tax laws and abide with Local, State and Federal statues for payroll taxes and apply deductions for employees.  Implements payroll deductions according to bargaining agreements and statues by law.

     Processes weekly payroll, completes audits, and review balances for accuracy. 

     Reviews vendor reports for accuracy and process vendor check requests.

     Assists employees with medical benefits and retirement questions.

     Prepares and makes deposits, post all revenues to financial system and keep spreadsheets on necessary information.

     Provides general finance office support, and other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Computer Software Proficiency

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in payroll and benefits administration. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to respond to requests courteously, professionally and respectfully at all times. Ability to set priorities, take initiative, work efficiently and independently. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
