The Town of New Canaan is seeking applicants for the
position of Accounts Payable. The
purpose of this position is to process accounts payable, audit all aspects of
accounts payable, process journal entries, and perform a variety of other
routine transactions, administrative tasks, and otherwise maintain detailed
financial records. This position is also
responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness
of all areas under his/her direction and control.
Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or
related degree from an accredited college or program, and have over five years’
experience in accounting, preferably with a municipality; related work
experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and work
experience. Knowledge of MUNIS a plus
but not required.
