Thompson is a municipality of 9,500 + population located in Northeastern CT.   

It is a border town, Massachusetts is to the North and Rhode Island to the East.

 

Consultant- Finance Director

 

         Immediate Hire

         25-30 hours per week

 

Duties include:

 

         Budget process for FY2022-2023:

o   Prepare each step using ClearGov budget tool

o   Update after each level of budget review:

a.       Department Heads

b.       Board of Selectmen

c.       Board of Finance

d.       Town meeting and Referendum

e.       Adopted Budget

         Month end process and production of month end financial reports for the Boards of Selectmen and Finance.

         General Ledger maintenance.

         Manage Capital Projects and Grant funding (including ARPA).

         Manage other funds include trusts, scholarships, escrows.

         Prepare for year end process for FY2021-2022 and annual external audit.

         Manage Treasury and reconcile banks monthly.

         Oversee Payroll and Accounts Payable and supervise staff person.

         WPCA-preparation of monthly financial reports, manage bank accounts and general ledger maintenance.

 

Experience:

         Financial management and governmental accounting

         Working with Tyler Munis

         Budget experience

         External audits
