Thompson is a municipality of 9,500 + population located in
Northeastern CT.
It is a border town, Massachusetts is to the North and Rhode
Island to the East.
Consultant- Finance Director

Immediate Hire
·
25-30 hours per week
Duties include:
·
Budget process for FY2022-2023:
o
Prepare each step using ClearGov budget
tool
o
Update after each level of budget review:
a.
Department Heads
b.
Board of Selectmen
c.
Board of Finance
d.
Town meeting and Referendum
e.
Adopted Budget
·
Month end process and production of month end
financial reports for the Boards of Selectmen and Finance.
·
General Ledger maintenance.
·
Manage Capital Projects and Grant funding
(including ARPA).
·
Manage other funds include trusts, scholarships,
escrows.
·
Prepare for year end process for FY2021-2022 and
annual external audit.
·
Manage Treasury and reconcile banks monthly.
·
Oversee Payroll and Accounts Payable and
supervise staff person.
·
WPCA-preparation of monthly financial reports,
manage bank accounts and general ledger maintenance.
Experience:
·
Financial management and governmental accounting
·
Working with Tyler Munis
·
Budget experience
·
External audits
