The purpose of this classification is to provide the highest level of professional administrative and technical work involving very complex administrative and technical duties and the handling of confidential information for an assigned department. Work involves responsibility for accurate and timely completion of projects, handling assigned administrative assignments and maintaining confidential financial records. Duties include analyzing and processing information related to administrative and technical tasks related to assigned projects, processing procedures and programs, compiling various financial and administrative reports, and making necessary recommendations for improvement. This position also has the responsibility for making difficult administrative support decisions.  This work requires that the employees have very good knowledge, skill, and ability in administrative and technical support work.  The work requires the full usage and application of technical tools such as computer programs, tracking systems and relational data programs and software. 


This position reports directly to the Controller in the Financial Control Group within the Finance Department, and is responsible to perform business data analyses and assist in the updating of Financial Control policies and procedures as assigned.


This  position is primarily responsible to assist the Controller with  process improvement projects related to Finance department processes and procedures including, but not limited to, the  automation of Accounts Payable (A/P) processes within SAP, the Districtís Enterprise Resource Planning system; as well as developing, analyzing, and maintaining financial reporting and ensuring proper maintenance and destruction of financial business records for the department in accordance with   District record retention requirements.


In addition, other duties of the position may include performing complex administrative transactions as needed, including but not limited to, settlement proposal and payments, tracking of accruals, as well as payroll related support.     



Associateís degree from a recognized college or university in public or business administration or related field, plus four years of progressively responsible experience in governmental or business administration to include progressively responsible technical experience with personal computers and related software or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience substituting on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelorís Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.

Experience utilizing SAP software for report queries, accessing financial records and executing business transactions.


Successful candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of public finance principles.
