Assistant Finance Director

 Job Overview:

The Town of Old Saybrook is looking to fill a full-time vacancy for an Assistant Finance Director.  This position performs a variety of technical financial tasks and manages the duties of Accounting personnel.  Administers all department activities including general ledger maintenance, bank account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing; coordinates the implementation of new financial policies and procedures.  Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP to all work performed. Works directly with all Town staff. Position reports to the Director of Finance.

This position is scheduled to work 40 hours/week with benefits. The hiring salary range is $70,000 to $75,000.

 Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or related field and 5 years progressively responsible accounting experience. MAC or CPA designation preferred. Consideration may be given to equivalent experience and training. The successful candidate for this position will be subject to a background and reference check including a credit check.
