Member Services

The GFOA-CT provides a direct information network to your peers and associates. Our organization is committed to helping you broaden your government finance skills and knowledge through mutual involvement in:

Seminars 
Our local seminars are on current topics and trends that affect you in your professional capacity in government finance.

Education
During the Spring and Fall, we offer educational course at minimal cost that help prepare you or your staff to keep abreast of the "how to's" in topics such as accounting; accounts payable; payroll; report preparation; and cash management. We take pride in offering workshops that present round table discussions with industry professionals who offer solutions to problems on issues that affect you every business day.

Meetings 
Quarterly. Our quarterly business meetings are structured to bring you up-to-date with local, regional and national topics of information you need to know. Your expertise and experience will aid the organization to meet the challenges of the ever evolving government finance world.

Annual
The annual summer meeting offers an opportunity to socialize with your colleagues and associates with an informal day of sports and games. A business meeting awards banquet closes the day's activities.

The GFOA Mentoring Program
At its April 2005 meeting, The GFOA Executive Board adopted a GFOA Mentoring Program. The purpose of the Program is to "provide one to one professional assistance to new or veteran government finance employees (active members) on a voluntary basis. A complete description of the program along with the application is included as part of the membership application.
