Course Objectives
GFOA CT will be offering an Intermediate Government
Accounting Class as follows:
Description: Course will review various topics found in
the GFOA - Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting text (the
“Blue Book”). In addition, other topics
such as the general fund budget formulation; mill rate calculation; capital
improvement plan formulation; medical self-insurance accounting; pension and
OPEB contributions; capital projects and other practical topics will be
discussed. An attempt will be made to tie
the topics discussed to a real world application in the municipal finance
office.
